Rise & Grind: 8 Burpees, 20/side spider plank, 30 glute bridges, 40 jumping jacks, 15/side leg extensions (donkey kicks), 15/leg side leg extensions. Repeat this set 5 times.
Below is an entry that I wrote back August. This is one that I still believe to be true and I wanted to go back and read it this morning for myself. To remind myself that I can do this. I had a great group at bootcamp last night and I want them to all know this as well! They are strong, capable, powerful and beautiful. So I am re-posting this blog. Have a fabulous Thursday everyone, it is almost the weekend!
“The Three C’c in life: Choice, Chance, Change. You must make the choice, to take the chance, if you want anything to change” –
Every single journey starts with a choice to start. I see people everyday who are just beginning their journeys to health and I could not be more excited for those people. I try to explain to them that their lives will never be the same. Making the choice to change is half the battle! Once we have our minds set on changing, the process becomes much easier. I am a firm believer that we must have our hearts and our minds on the same page to see results.
So here is to everyone who is making the choice to change:
First off, Thank you for making a choice for you! Everyone deserves the best out of this life. Health is not something you always have control over but what you put into your body and how your shape your body is completely up to you. Some of us wants curves, some want a runners body and some just want to gain confidence and every option is ok!
To begin your journey, you must have confidence in your choices. Wake up, look in the mirror, and tell yourself you are strong, beautiful, capable and powerful. You must train your mind like you are going to train your body. Do not let anyone tell you that you are not one of the things mentioned above. Build a barrier to negative thoughts and change them to positive ideas. Know that this is on you! No one can travel your journey for you, no one can change your thoughts, no one can eat healthy for you or workout for you. Your success is all on your shoulders. This can be a big load to carry at times but it is well worth the struggle.
Secondly, Treat your body like a sacred temple. Feed your body real food. Stretch your muscles. Soak in a hot bath. Sleep 8 hours a day. Take time out to pamper yourself. I know this can be hard with all your other responsibilities but it is do-able. This will be vital to your success.Wake up early if that is what you have to do. Find something that gives you the release of stress and worries. Feed your body with fuel that will awaken your senses and excite your belly. Eat foods that can be grown in your backyard. Stay away from chemical ingredients and refined, enriched foods. Have fun feeding your family a meal together at night, get the kids involved and spend quality time together getting healthy.
Next I am going to tell you to release negative people from your everyday life. There are millions of people in this world, find cronies with positive attitudes who are willing to support your journey.
This is the most important thing you will ever do for yourself. Do not let someone take that away. Do not let excuses steal your success. Do not let the weather, laundry, husband, wife, kids or dirty dishes steal your success either. Trust me when I say, once you find a schedule that works for you, it will all get done.
You are an incredible human and you are capable of living a healthy life! Have fun on your journey, have patience, and trust the process.
I am capable. I am strong. I am beautiful. I am powerful.
