Steps to a Healthier Family #3

This one is simple: Never Give up.

There are going to be days when dinner is not a balanced meal, when breakfast is leftover dinner, and when coffee is the only thing getting you through it. Don’t sweat it.

I find that I have a few things that always get done (healthy snacks, water bottles, good grocery shopping) and then there are things that sometimes get done (prepping meals ahead of time, protein/carb/fat balance at each meal, workout). It is ok! You can not expect to overhaul your entire schedule in 2 weeks. This takes time. Un-processing your diet is a huge feat.

However, you must keep trying! You can not give up because you had one bad day or week of bad food, no workout, or low motivation. Think of all of the benefits to you and your family of eating real, whole foods and getting some movement and fresh air (lower obesity risk, lower diabetes risk, less mood swings, less headaches, better skin, better hair, more energy, little to no signs of ADD/ADHD, better digestive function, and the list can go on forever)!

Never give up.

Eventually you will have more great days of nutrition than bad ones.

You will find a form of movement/workout that you love.

Find whole food snacks that you like and always have them around.

Find time for yourself.

Buy healthy, eat healthy. Buy processed, eat processed.

“it is not about perfect, it’s about effort. And when you implement that effort into your life…every single day, that’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs. Keep going. Remember why you started”

I am strong. I am capable. I am powerful. I am beautiful.
